The impact of interim valuation certificate on construction project delivery is as a result of the successful implementation and execution of the various constructional activities and the subsequent competition of the work therefore planned by the construction team; ie the civil, mechanical, structural, electrical engineering, the builder, the Quantity Surveyor (cost engineer), The Architect. The aim of the study is to assess the impact of the interim valuation certificate in the construction project delivery. Construction project is a complex project unlike other project; it involves a lot of professionals to bring it to erection. It is good practice to carryout interim valuation certificate preparation and issues it out when valued by the Quantity Surveyor. In this research, questionnaires used was for seventy firms only, which encompasses of registered consultants (Which comprises of Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Builders present) and are above 10 years in practice both in the public and private sectors of the construction industry. The data collected from the field of the survey will be analyzed using Relative importance index. Before carrying out any valuation, the contractor must have completed some percentage of the work and the Architect must have issued out a variation order. To make a successful interim valuation, certain constituents has to be known like preliminaries, main contractors work, variation, unfixed materials and goods, statutory fees and charges, nominated sub-contractors work, fluctuation in costs of labour, materials on site, taxes and retention fee etc. These are the ingredient of interim valuation to issue a certificate showing or confirming that such work has been done and completed as planned. Therefore, this study contribute to knowledge by providing a deeper understanding on how to make a successful interim valuation certificate, which is an utmost priority for a construction project because it present a good avenue for the contractor to receive payment for work and it also give room for proper evaluation of all variation carried out on site by the Quantity surveyor.
