This article examines adaptive and modular furniture as a response to the rapid obsolescence of interior furnishings. It demonstrates the relationship between a product's structural flexibility and the length of its life cycle, and analyzes the principles of modularity and repairability. Particular attention is given to emotional durability - the ability of an object to retain value for its owner over time. The article concludes that furniture longevity is determined not only by the materials used, but also by the patterns of interaction and use embedded in its design.
