Sides of the Body and Drug Affinities by Clemens Maria Franz von Boenninghausen constitutes a specialized and important contribution to homeopathic repertory literature. The text systematically investigates laterality, defined as the affinity of remedies for the right or left side of the body, a topic often underrepresented in classical provings. Structured into 20 anatomically organized chapters, the book utilizes a graded typographical system to indicate the reliability of remedies. Boenninghausen’s compilation of clinically verified lateral affinities improves the accuracy of remedy selection and supports individualized case analysis. The subsequent section on drug affinities further refines therapeutic decision-making by restricting remedy selection to clinically validated options. While not a comprehensive repertory, this work functions as a valuable supplement in cross-repertorization and has influenced prominent homeopathic texts and practitioners. This review assesses the structure, methodology, clinical relevance, and limitations of the work within the broader context of homeopathic practice.
